This touch hole liner is made from the same tough and erosion resistant AMPCO alloy as the nipples. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (Wrench Model): Drill and tap the barrel for 1/4-28 thread at the proper location at the breech. Slightly contersink hole with a 82 deg. countersink. Install and note if any liner protrudes into the barrel bore; if it does shorten inside end of the liner to appropriate length. Tighten liner securely with standard rifle nipple wrench and file flush with outside of barrel. To remove, enlarge touch hole and remove with easy-out extractor.INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (SCREWDRIVER MODEL); For firearms with interchangeable flint/percussion locks, use 5/16-24 thread and matching percussion drum (install drum and percussion lock first for proper location). Use 1/4-28 thread size for touchhole only replacement applications. Drill and tap breech with appropriate thread and slightly chamfer threaded hole with 82 deg. countersink. Install touch hole liner with screw driver. Touch hole liner should be flush with the outside of barrel, if not, adjust chamfer. Check for clearance inside of bore and shorten touch hole liner if necessary.
