These nipples are made from the toughest AMPCO alloy available. This alloy with its tensile strength of 118,000psi is tougher than most steels used in muzzleloading barrels and provides more resistance to repeated blows from the hammer. The high thermal conductivity of the AMPCO alloy affects a faster heat dissipation, thus reducing erosion of the small base hole and assuring a longer lasting nipple. These nipples will also not rust or corrode. All nipples have a small base hole (.028½) to greatly reduce the amount of escaping powder gasses. The rifle and pistol nipples are designed for the use of number 11 percussion caps except those made specifically for muskets. O/S signifies oversize nipple. Continue Shopping Email to a Friend
