This model .44 Cal. revolver features the final improvements in the cap and ball evolution before it gave way to the cartridge gun. It has a blued, lightweight round 5.5” barrel and rebated cylinder with engraved naval battle scene. The creeping loading lever, frame and hammer are color case hardened steel. The Army size grip straps are silver plated brass on all of these models. The fluted cylinder is an early model and the round cylinder is a later model. Sheriff’s version is the same as the late model with the popular 5” barrel length. R&D Conversion cylinder is sold separately to convert this to .45LC.
