Certainly the most famous of the Colt percussion pistols. More than 375,000 were produced for Oregon Trail settlers, and later Civil War soldiers. Among the cap and ball revolvers of today, the 1849 is a favorite not only for its elegant design but for its size. The revolver is .31 Cal. with a color case hardened steel frame, brass backstrap and trigger guard, one piece walnut grip, and engraved five shot cylinder. The barrel and cylinder are available in a standard blue finish.
