This Dragoon was the final model in the old style of .44 Armies. It has the horizontal loading lever catch that was to be used on all future Colt cap and ball revolvers. The Military Model has a steel backstrap cut for a shoulder stock, special shoulder stock frame screws, and a long range rear sight on the barrel. The Dragoon has a rolled cylinder scene of U.S. Mounted Rangers and fighting Indians. The frame, hammer, and loading lever are color case hardened and the barrel and cylinder are available in a standard blue.
